You could describe the music of BOTW as dream pop, although they have some darker sides, too. The songs can be seen as stories, all evolving from images. The melodic drums make new chapters into these stories and the dreamy, sometimes psychedelic, guitars and keys create a sound that makes Bird on the Wire a unique band. You could refer to them by their influences, from the Velvet Underground to Warpaint, still their songs are very authentic.
